Chemical Process Piping (CPP) recently joined the AZL network. The company designs, manufactures and installs glass fibre reinforced plastic pipes made of GRP/FRP, GRE and thermoplastic lined FRP pipes as well as manufacturing headers, ducts, stacks, special fittings and thermoshield pipe systems.
Under the direction of Mr Vijay Rajpurohit, CPP manufactures pipes and fittings from 15 mm to 10 metres in diameter. Stress analyses and other static calculations help in the design of pipes that can withstand pressures of up to 64 bar. All GRP pipes and fittings are tested by TÜV SÜD, Institute for Plastics in Germany.
To introduce the company’s business and motivation for collaboration with the AZL Partner Network, Vijay answered three questions for us:
What trends and challenges do you currently observe for lightweight & composites in the piping sector?
CPP has a 60 year history of design, manufacture and Installation of FRP, GRE and Thermoplastic lined FRP piping serving the Chemical, Power, Desalination, Oil & Gas industry. Weight has not been an issue in the above mentioned industries instead chemical resistance was of utmost importance. Our foray into lightweight materials is very recent and we are still learning about the possibilities by connecting to new partners from the industry and academia. In the near future we look forward to be able to design, manufacture and install very high pressure piping to convey besides oil products also green hydrogen.
How do your solutions address these trends and challenges? What do you offer that would be of interest to AZL partner companies?
As of now we are seekers of knowledge in this new field however in the near future we are confident that we shall be able to contribute to industries in need of light weight composite materials. Since we are new to this forum we do not exactly know what are the requirements / need of partners companies. Over a period of time, as we scan through the AZL network we shall better understand the needs of partners of this forum and will be better positioned to offer our products.
What do you expect from the AZL Partnership? What are you looking for (partners, solutions, information, products)?
We look forward to connecting to AZL partners who would be able to help us design and manufacture piping systems with can take higher pressures, prevent diffusion of gases through composite, help improve bonding between thermoplastic and thermoset.
