Position Purpose:

Within the knowledge and Data team, the Materials Science Engineer is responsible for managing the technical aspects of OEM approvals. Provide the analytical data and information necessary to verify process and product compliance, to ensure that products meet original equipment manufacturer quality standards.  

Your Responsibilities:

Under the supervision of the Manager of the Manager of the Application Center Data & Knowledge Team, the Materials Science Engineer will be in charge to support Commercial organisation in product homologation management at OEM level, the main missions will be:

Managing material homologations:

  • Identify and prioritize together with the strategic and commerciak teams, Product management and Application Development Managers the right product for strategic and customer driven product homologations.
  •  Define the long-term recurring data collection programs for all product and plant homologations.
  •  Coordinate with the laboratory all necessary internal and external qualification measurements.
  •  Coordinate the consolidation of all results in technical reports and internal technical databases.
  •  Support the laboratory in developing suitable internal analytical methods in accordance with customer requirements

Manage product listings and norms:

  • Act as focal point for the complete organization for all issues related to product listings
  • Provide a well-structured, regularly updated and easily accessible overview of all product listings for the complete global TECHNYL product portfolio and of all relevant external product norms
  • Coordinate the regular update of all external listing platforms and internal databases
  • Translate norms into relevant product characteristics and/or specifications and implement them into existing tools and technical documentation
  • Interact on a regular base with customer and OEM material experts
  • Support the organization in identifying gaps in the existing product portfolio or identify opportunities for new product development to fulfill relevant customer and OEM norms
  • Represent DOMO at external material information systems
Ensure compliance with HSE regulation, quality standards and company policies
  • Care to be safe in all activities
  • Understands and adheres to all DOMO safety policies and procedures to prevent injury to self and others

Challenges:

  • Be the key focal point regarding properties, perfromances and product for various functions: sales, marketing, strategic, laboratories
  • Have a solid technical background to be able to answer to various request and to be proactive

  • Build full PDS for the main products
  • Build and share the full overview of the homologated products and OEM norms
  • Participate to the creation of a easy and user-friendly tool to cross-check product, data and standards

Skills:

  • Master in polymer Science, Material Science, Chemistry
  • Minimum 3 years od experience in a R&D function or a Marketing function
  • Good knowledge in polymer properties and polymer analytics
  • Profound know-how and experience in data analytics
  • Experience in the automotive market is an asset
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Customer and business orientation
  • Curiosity, proactivity, accountability, active listening

  • Required: English/ German
