Virtual meetings: AZL network expands lightweight cooperation in interactive video conferences

3 June 2020 News AZL Admin

Since 2013, the AZL partner community has been working on lightweight technologies and applications in regular meetings and projects in a trusting and pre-competitive environment. In recent weeks, the established cooperation has also proved its worth in virtual form – in more than 10 interactive video conferences, 50 to 101 participants each exchanged knowledge and networked via newly created participant profiles.

“It has been shown that a digital variant of the working group meetings is a very well-functioning alternative in the currently difficult situation. I was pleasantly surprised at how well this virtual variant works. Many thanks to the AZL team for the smooth implementation. In my opinion, the digital version could be offered in the future as a supplement to the conventional working group meetings. So international companies like ours can involve more team members easily without any traveling effort. Nevertheless, I am looking forward to seeing the AZL team and the AZL network personally again in the near future,” describes Dr.-Ing. Timo Huber, Vice President of Advanced Composite Technology Center ACTC of Hengrui Corporation Ltd. his experience with the new format.

In addition to the meetings of the six workgroups and several project meetings, the Annual Partner Meeting with more than 150 representatives of the “AZL family” is also held as an interactive video conference. With the new digital format “Lightweight TechTalk”, the AZL offers a further platform to enable networking beyond the AZL commuity and to provide impulses for lightweight technologies and markets.

“Efficient and sustainable networking in the AZL community continues to be one of the most relevant components of our cooperation. Instead of exchanging business cards during the coffee break, we are now networking during our meetings via participant profiles. Each participant communicates his or her area of interest and can network and exchange information directly with other participants via LinkedIn and the chat,” explains Maren Daniels from AZL about the digital meeting format.

At the Annual Partner Meeting on 24 and 25 June, the AZL network will discuss and define how the digital tools will be integrated into the collaboration in the future.
