In order to achieve technically and commercially suitable lightweight production based on fibre-reinforced plastics and multi-material systems, an integrated approach is required. Due to the almost unlimited possibilities of combining different materials and the very complex interactions between materials, component design, manufacturing processes and the machinery and plant components, an optimal production process requires a direct link between material sciences, process engineering and production technology.
AZL Aachen GmbH has the necessary expertise to appropriately define and implement development projects and large-scale production. The diverse and locally highly concentrated research landscape along the entire composite value chain makes AZL’s environment unique in Europe. It enables close networking between the traditional mechanical engineering disciplines of RWTH Aachen and innovative machinery and tools equipment, as well as their linkage to production lines. Through our close cooperation with our partners, we also have direct access to the necessary infrastructure for components, materials, tools, and machinery and plant components which we can test in continuous full-scale process chains, as well as develop or establish from scratch.
