Toray Resins Europe GmbH (TREU), located in Neu-Isenburg/ Frankfurt a.M., is a subsidiary of Toray Industries in Tokyo and focused on expanding Toray´s high performance plastics business in Europe. To deepen collaboration with customers in Europe, such as in the automobile industry, TREU offers early-stage CAE analysis and material evaluation as a service to support customer part design and material selection and technical support for prototyping and injection moulding process.

As the TREU organization expands with growing sales of high-performance plastics, we are seeking in our newly established Resins Technical Center in Neufahrn by Munich area.


CAE & Material Evaluation Engineer in Engineering Plastics (m/f/d)

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting customers by solving technical design and processing issues with CAE technologies such as structural FE- analysis and injection moulding simulation and report results to customers, in web meetings or face to face.
  • Testing and evaluation of current and new material properties such as tensile, fatigue and creep properties.
  • Evaluation of anisotropic material properties and implementation in CAE material models.
  • Analyse failure parts to find root cause by analysis equipment such as SEM, IR and X-ray CT.
  • Supporting injection moulding process by deep injection moulding knowledge and skills.
  • Serve as a direct technical solution “face to the customer” through the commercialization process from advanced prototyping to serial production.
  • Work with TREU sales team and globally with Toray development teams to share support, design, and moulding successes.

Your profile:

  • University Degree in Chemical, Plastics or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Understanding of engineering and high-performance plastics part design and processing requirements based on 1-3+ years field experience in CAE simulation
  • Fundamental understanding and passion for material sciences in the field of high-performance engineering plastics.
  • Problem solving and critical thinking skills to develop a logical and systematic approach
  • Enthusiasm to work in an international company and team and excitement for intercultural experience.

Other requirements:

  • Teamwork
  • English and German language is important
  • Effective in communication and relationship building with customers as well as presentation and marketing skills
  • Hands on experience with CAE software: Abaqus, ANSA, Hyperworks, Autodesk Moldflow, Moldex3D and Digimat

Additional information:

  • Primary office location is in Neufahrn b. Freising near Munich.
  • Customer travel as needed across Europe.
  • Training in-house and externally.
