AZL Composites in Action @ JEC World 2018, Paris

The AZL, its 9 partner institutes and 4 of the more than 80 AZL partner companies have presented their innovations along the entire composite value chain on the special exhibition area “Composites in Action” with over 300 sqm at the JEC World 2018.

More than 60 experts from the RWTH Aachen Campus presented the composite technologies and systems developed on campus, from fiber to quality assurance, using more than 70 demonstrators and systems: From an automatically controlled AutoTow spreading system to tape laying and winding systems and inline quality monitoring in tape production, numerous new developments were presented.

The technological program within the framework of “Composites in Action” is now being organized for the fourth year in cooperation with JEC World.

At the conference “Buildings and Infrastructure: the high potential markets for composites”, the AZL partner companies AXIA, BASF and AFFAN and the partner institute Fraunhofer IPT provided an overview of various technologies for sustainable building systems, the manufacture of composite pipe structures for infrastructure, process development and material optimization, among others.
