4th AZL Annual Partner Meeting: AZL Partner Network will meet on June 21st and 22nd
Once in a year, the AZL Partner Network consisting of more than international 80 Partner Companies and 9 Partner Institutes at the RWTH Aachen Campus meet in order to update on running and accomplished activities and to define future activities.
This year’s AZL Annual Partner Meeting takes place in the Business Lounge of the Aachen football stadium Tivoli on June 21st and 22nd. More than 150 participants are expected to participate representing the entire network along the lightweight value chain.
The two-day meeting will start with two keynote presentations given by Dr. Hartmut Saljé, Head of Corporate Engineering at Mubea and keynote presentation by Thierry Renault, Manager of Partnerships & Expertise Network at Faurecia. Within the first so called “Speed Dating” slot, 5 Partner Companies as well as 4 Institutes will present their innovations in 6-minute presentations. In the afternoon of the first day the AZL Partner Companies will visit the recently opened Production Engineering Cluster at the RWTH Aachen Campus in which the AZL together with companies and institutes opened their offices and machinery halls. The Networking Dinner will also take place at the Campus, in the canteen “Mensa Vita”.
After the Opening Remarks by Prof. Dr. Schmachtenberg, rector of RWTH Aachen University and a keynote presentation by Christian Hinke from the Digital Photonic Production Cluster, the second day will include an update on running AZL activities. The AZL Workgroups Hybrid Thermoplastic Composites, High-Speed RTM Matrices, High-Performance SMC and Pipes and Vessels, each meeting twice a year, will be presented. Furthermore, the motivation and scope of the following study and projects will be presented:
– Joint Market and Technology Study “New Potentials for Composite Technologies in Buildings and Infrastructure”
– Joint Partner Project “New Designs for Low-Cost and Energy-Efficient Double-Belt Presses”
– Joint Partner Project “Ultra-Fast Manufacturing of Tailored Composite Blanks”
In a following workshop session, the participants will define next year’s activities and trends. The meeting will end with the second “Speed Dating” slot and a report out of the workshop.
